We recently moved to sunny Bournemouth, in June 2022. This blog will show the improvements made to our new home, we call it our Parley Project.
We are now waiting for the builder, Andy McCutcheon, to remove the wall. He will be starting during the week starting 21/11/2022, and that the 2 week job will be done by Christmas. Andy McCutcheon was recommended by Gareth Smith at Poole Joinery Windows Ltd , who will be fitting a lantern for us.

We now have plans for the new kitchen. Provided by Steve Loftus Kitchens , who was very helpful. Quick to respond to any questions and lots of good ideas. We are waiting for the builder to do his thing and take away the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. Steve will then be able to order us a new kitchen. Old dining room Old kitchen

Next we needed to insulate a north facing wall. Originally there were cupboards over the entire wall, which was causing ventilation problems. I took the cupboards out and then Darren and Kim at Splat plastering took over. They built a stud wall with insulation, plaster boarded and then plastered. An excellent result, we will be using them again. Hard working, professional and very friendly. Splat plastering was recommended by  Gareth Smith at Poole Joinery Windows Ltd , who will be fitting a lantern for us.  After Before

The first job was getting a wood burner installed. We used Sam at Stove and Chimney Solutions Ltd . And this what it looked like before. Now we will be warm during the evening, whatever happens to the price of gas!
We are taking the wall down between the Kitchen and the Dining room to create a big kitchen/diner. This was an external wall originally, so we needed a structural engineer. We used Brendan Carroll of Carro Consult Ltd, he was recommended by Andrew McCutcheon (builder)  and Gareth Smith at Poole Joinery Windows Ltd. He was quick to come round and very quick to provide the sketches and calculations. So we are now ready for the builder.
