Next we needed to insulate a north facing wall. Originally there were cupboards over the entire wall, which was causing ventilation problems. I took the cupboards out and then Darren and Kim at Splat plastering took over. They built a stud wall with insulation, plaster boarded and then plastered. We are taking the wall down between the Kitchen and the Dining room to create a big kitchen/diner. This was an external wall originally, so we needed a structural engineer. We used Brendan Carroll of Carro Consult Ltd, he was recommended by Andrew McCutcheon (builder) and Gareth Smith at Poole Joinery Windows Ltd. He was quick to come round and very quick to provide the sketches and calculations. So we are now ready for the builder.
